Day Thirty Two

9:38 PM
Don was still asleep when I arrived this morning. He said he slept the best last night than he has slept in a while. Not sure if I have mentioned it but Don woke up Thursday and Friday nights after I left him at 9:00 and was scared because I was gone. Thursday was worse than Friday night. He said last he didn't wake up scared. He ate a good breakfast and we both napped all morning long. All the kids came by with Donnie Lee's new pup. Donnie fed his dad lunch -what he ate of it. He said he didn't like what they were having. Two of our friends came by and brought him so banana bread. Then another one of our friends/co-worker came by with her daughter and she brought us supper. Don said it was the best pasta he had eaten. Since he didn't eat lunch he had me to fix him a plate about 4:00. Another one of our friends/co-worker and her husband stopped by and brought Don a bird magazine. We all had a wonderful visit. Both sets of folks said that they had to ask where Don's room was and both said the response came from 2 staff members at the same time - room 108 bed B. One of the friends said "he must have a lot of visitors" and again the staff members answered at the same time yes. We have been so blessed during this time that are family, friends and co-workers have thought about us so often. I wouldn't want it any other way! Believe me every visit, comment, e-mail, prayer, card, gift of all types and meals/food is a blessing and we appreciate each every thing that all of you have done for us. We would never be able to repay you. After our visit was over, they came in to give Don his bath. When I returned had some friends with me that used to be our neighbors. Don had a great visit with them and they promised they would be back to see him from time to time. Supper came and it was a good thing he had eaten the pasta. He wasn't impressed with supper either. He nibbled at a few items and then had another piece of pecan pie. I had the pasta and salad for supper myself and I have to agree it was great. I also had a sugar free chocolate cup cake that our friend brought for me since I am diabetic. Don slept off and on until I left at 9:00. I fixed his oxygen and he was waiting on pain medicine when I left. Please pray for PT tomorrow. He is excited about the possibility of getting up tomorrow. Just pray that his BP is normal to acceptable and that he doesn't over do it. I can't wait to update you tomorrow on the PT. Just keep praying!
