Day Seventy Eight

Don was awake early again this morning. Donnie Lee left about 6:00 and I left about 6:45. I was concerned that Don would be by himself for a while. Don's parents arrived about 8:00. We didn't think they would be able to be there so soon. I was glad to know that Don didn't have to spend too much time alone. Don's dad took him to aquatics at the YMCA and then his PT took him up to the center for OT. Aquatics is kicking Don's tail. He said he was glad he doesn't have aquatics until Tuesday. Don's dad went to pick him up about 3:15 and Don was still in OT. Don's mom stayed at the house and cooked supper for all of us. When I arrived home at 3:45 the table was set and all the food was on the stove. We were just waiting on the rest of the family to get home. Donnie Lee called about 3:50 to say they had just left the center. He had gone by to make sure that his dad didn't need his help in getting home. Donnie got home about 4:00 and Don and his dad arrived a little after 4:00. Just as we were pouring our drinks and getting ready to sit down, Kristi came in. We thought she would have to work late tonight. We all had dinner at the table which we are all liking a lot. We haven't sat at the table for dinner on a regular basis in years. I began to help load the dishwasher and Don's mom told me that she was going to wash all the dishes by hand. She told me to just rest, because tonight she could do this for us and I would have to load the dishwasher another night. After she finished the dishes, Don's parents got ready to leave. We gave Don's mom her Christmas presents tonight before she left.

Day Seventy Seven

Wednesday, February 18

Don was awake early this morning. Donnie Lee had to go to work about mid morning. My mom came a little after 10:00 to stay with Don. They decided to meet Kristi for lunch at Jin's buffet. Mom left a little after 2:00 and I got home about 3:45. Don said he had a good day. We left about 4:30 to go to Wal-Mart and Kristi went with us. We didn't spend much time at the store and we came back home. Donnie Lee was just ahead of us when we arrived at the house. We fixed pot luck for supper and got ready for the Thursday. About 7:00 Don opened his Christmas presents from me, my parents, and his parents. He had opened the presents from the kids while he was in the hospital. Kristi left about 9:00 and we all turned in for the night.
