Day Forty Seven

9:41 AM
Don's mother went to the center to feed Don this morning. I am thankful for that even though I felt guilty. I was able to get some laundry done before going to the center at lunch time. Don said he didn't sleep consistent because of all the activity that goes on at night and his room mate doesn't sleep well so he is up and down quite often at night. Don ate a big breakfast and then 2 packs of cheese crackers before lunch. Then he didn't want his lunch. We made him a sandwich out of his ham and dinner roll and that's about all that he ate for lunch. He asked for his pain medicine right after lunch and waited for the CNAs to dress him for PT. I went to get his therapists and they said that they were not going to be able to get him up because Dr. K. had written the therapy orders as non weight bearing on both legs. His therapist knew he would be upset and so I went in to tell him what was going on. He was a bit upset and told them they were going to get him up because he had waited all weekend to get up and he wanted to get out of that bed. So they decided they would lift him using the sheet from the bed to get him in his gerichair. It took about 5 or 6 of them to lift him. It only took a few minutes to get him up. They took him to the rehab room and spent the next hour or so evaluating him again. Which I knew it was going to be that way as the OT had told me that on Friday. So they only really worked on his right arm today. He stayed up until almost 4:00 and had them to put him back to bed. Again it took about 5 or 6 people to get him back into bed. He didn't nap much this afternoon and evening. He wanted a double cheeseburger from McDonald's for supper so we got him one. The kids came by today and left early tonight. Everyone was gone by about 8:15 or so. Don and I watched House, although I'm not sure he really watched it. I left him around 9:00. Please keep praying!
