Day Fifty Two Part Two

9:40 PM

Don woke up shortly before supper and was looking at some more magazines and his room mate came to tell him that supper was being served. Don decided that he would stay up for supper. I moved him to the day room and went and got his tray. He didn't like what he was served for supper so he had me to heat his left over Chinese from last night. We had stored it in the resident's fridge. He ate all of it and the brownie that came with supper. Sometime after 6:00 we headed back to his room. I asked Don if he was OK - I do that all the time. All of the sudden out of no where Don just broke down again. I asked him if he was in pain and he said no. I asked him what was wrong and he said he just wanted to go home, he was just tired and wanted to go home. He eventually stopped crying and the CNAs got him back in bed about 7:00. He was very anxious the rest of the evening. We spent the next hour and 45 minutes getting Don ready for bed and his bandages changed. Just before I left I told him if he needed me to call me no matter what. I also stopped to talk to the nurse on my way out and she said she would use her cell phone to call me at home tonight if she noticed that he was upset. She said if she saw him awake during the night she would go in and talk with Don. Please just keep praying!

Day Fifty Two

4:12 PM
Don was still asleep when I arrived this morning. He said he slept well. He ate a big breakfast and wanted more so the CNA had the kitchen staff to fry him an egg and bacon to make a sandwich on toast. About 10:00 the CNAs give him a bath and got him dressed. They were finished about 11:00 and got him into his chair. I took him to the day room and we looked at log cabin kits on the web. Lunch came about 12:30 and he didn't eat too much because he didn't like what they were having. After lunch I took him outside on the patio of the nursing center. It was a beautiful day. He enjoyed being out but it was just too cold when the wind blew even wrapped up. We came back into the lobby and Don looked at a few magazines and then fell asleep.
