Don slept well last night. He said he didn't have to ask for pain medicine during the night. He ate breakfast & was watching another Clint Eastwood movie until about 10:30. The CNA bathed him and got him dressed. He also got him in his wheelchair. I took him to the day room and Don ate some cabbage for lunch. He said he wasn't feeling real well at his stomach. The kids came by early today & my parents came by after church. Gainsville Baptist Church had a birthday party for all the residents whose birthday is in February. Believe it or not Don went. They had cake, ice cream, chips and drinks. It was open to all the residents and families. They gave gifts to all the residents that have birthdays this month. Don wanted to go back to his room about 4:00. The CNA was able to help him get in the bed and then together we changed him. The kids had decided earlier that we would all be together for the Superbowl, so Kristi went & picked up pizza, chips and drinks. Donnie had left earlier so he came back about 7:00. We had a fun time watching the game. Kristi and I were pulling for PA and Don was pulling for AZ. Donnie Lee doesn't care for football but he came to just be with us. I got Don set for the night & Donnie and I left about 9:00. Kristi stayed to finish watching the game with her dad. Please pray for Don this week. He has an appointment on Friday and at our last appointment Dr. Gaston said he would take out some of the screws in his left hand. His PT also said that Don would take his first steps this week. Don also finished up his antibiotic on Thursday and as I mentioned in another post the incision is not draining. Just pray that the infection is gone and doesn't come back. Thanks again for all the prayers and everything that has been done for us!

Day Fifty Nine
Saturday January 31st
Don slept well and eat 2 breakfasts. He got up & into his wheelchair about 10:30. He went to the day room and he ate lunch there. He watched his favorite Clint Eastwood "Hang 'Em High" & "Fistful of Dollars". I used my gift card at Fatz to by us dinner. It was a nice change from the center's food for Don and burgers or chicken for me. After he ate dinner he went back to his room and the CNA put him back in the bed about 6:30. I was real surprised that he was able to stay up that long. I got him dressed and ready for bed. He dozed off and on the rest of the evening. His incision has quit draining and the drain area has healed up. I put his oxygen on a little after 8:00 and left him to rest.
