Still at CMC-Charlotte. We have had one more day! It is amazing how you evaluate your circumstances. A few weeks ago today would have been a breeze. We didn't get to make the 4:00 transport either. BC/BS wouldn't approve the transfer in time. After many conversations with the hospital social worker and finally the discharge nurse at BC/BS we are supposed to go tomorrow to Lincoln Nursing Center. We are just waiting on ambulance transport. Don has had a rough day considering - again relative to his circumstances now. With all the confusion of on again off again and limited benefits (not really but they tried that), Don has been in a lot of pain that the meds aren't taking care of. He has also had a headache and his blood pressure has been up. The BP is not high enough to get medication for but it may be contributing to the headache but I am sure the stress has contributed to it. He broke down and cried when I told him the transfer was a definite for tomorrow - tears of joy I think. He is talking with someone about everything that has happened. He is beginning to blame himself for choosing to ride the motorcycle that night. I have tried to assure him that he could have had a car accident just as easy. We have seen victims of car accidents come in here that are in much worse shape than he is in. So to me motorcycle or not that isn't even an issue. Please pray for us again tomorrow as we make this transition & for everything still ahead of us!
