Happy New Year!
We made it to the nursing home about 4:30 yesterday. It is quite different from the hospital and will take some getting use to for all of us. Don is in a semi-private room so that requires some adjusting. We have a friend that works 2nd shift here and found out this morning that we have 2 friends that work 1st shift here. I just don't know anyone one 3rd shift and that is when I am not here. They won't let me stay. They tried to tell me visiting hours were from 11:00 to 8:30. I told them that Don couldn't feed himself so I would be here every morning to feed him. I also asked if I could stay as late as possible and they agreed to let me stay last night until 11:00. It was very hard for me to leave last night. I finally got in the bed about 11:45 but was awake quite often until about 2:00. I set the alarm for 5:45 so that I could be at the nursing facility at 7:15 when breakfast is served. I made it before breakfast and Don was back to sleep. The nurses told me he had a good night and that he had been awake already. When he woke up he said that he did sleep well and that he was doing fine. PT came by after breakfast and assessed him and they will begin his routine tomorrow. He will have 1 hour of PT a day and 1 hour of OT a day. OT will have to come by tomorrow and assess him as they were not here today. Don was pretty tired after the exam. He said pretty much the only thing that bothered him was his left knee. They had suspected that it had a lot of ligament and tendon damage but we never heard that for sure. They used a device on him that doesn't touch his knee but sends magnetic waves through his knee. They did this for 30 minutes after PT today. He is eating well and isn't complaining. I don't have access to the internet from Don's room so the blog updates may be later in the day, when I go home. Please just keep praying!

Happy New Year to Ya'll, Too!
Glad to hear transfer went as well as possible. We know you're all tired and worn to a frazzel. God is Good! We're praying for you. Tell Don, we would love to come down and harass him(and would already have done so)but not real sure of our vehicle right now. God will take care of that and we will see you in His good time. Warm thoughts and fervent prayers for you all! Debbie&Gary@the googer
Glad to hear that the move has happened and happened uneventful! I know that you all are glad that he is closer to you at home! We will keep praying for every day to be better than the day before. Hope you all had a Happy New Year!
