Not sure how much sleep Don got Sunday night/Monday, but I had about 3 hours sleep in about 37 hours. We went to bed early last night. We were actually asleep by 7:30. Several staff members were in throughout the night and Don needed to be repositioned a time or two but all in all we slept pretty well. Ortho came in at 5:05 this morning to say that surgery would be about 10:00 AM tomorrow. They restarted him on his antibiotics again this morning. He has been awake most of the morning - no napping. The hand surgeon came by to say that they would not be able to take his cast off this week. They said if he was discharged by Friday that he would have to come back next week to see if the cast could come off. A friend is on this same floor having some surgery and his daughter & granddaughter came by last night to let us know that he was just across the hall. He came by this morning on his "walk" and was such a blessing to see someone so positive! Don ate a great breakfast and lunch. He has been more interested in TV the last two days. He watched a Jackie Chan movie. I think he has dozed off now. Please pray that they get all the infection tomorrow and that we are on the road to recovery once again!
