Don rested well last night. His mother said that he had the hiccups a lot last night. One episode lasted almost an hour. Don is still on 4 liters of oxygen. His mother noticed last night when he would breath really deep through his nose it seemed to shorten the hiccup episodes. It is so hard for him to breath deep because of the broken ribs, but yet the hiccups seem to be linked to not breathing deep too. Doris said that Don mentioned he was hungry and when breakfast came around he ate 1/4 piece of french toast. Not sure if the amount is more than he has been eating but it is more solid. He is very nauseous again today. He is so nauseated today that he says he won't eat anymore until the hip/leg is fixed. Which by the way, we hope will be tomorrow. Unless an emergency comes in between now and 4 AM tomorrow, he will be having surgery on his hip/leg at 7:00 AM. They talked to Don and had him to agree to all three surgeries at one time just in case everything goes better than expected and they would be able to get as much done at one time as possible. It is now almost 12:30 and when they brought lunch he told me to get the food out of his room. He has finally vomited and said that he felt better. The nurse came in a gave him Finigrin (?sp/) for nausea and said that it was stronger than what he had been taking. He is hallucinating a lot now. Taking about people he worked with years ago and that I need to get some rocking chairs for some folks that ordered them. (Don builds porch furniture as a hobby). He told me to throw him the flashlight and I told him I had. He said no I don't have it. So I gave him my hand and said OK. He then told me to put my hands around his mouth so he could tell me something, but he never did. The nurses are trying to clean him up since he vomited. Everyone please pray that he will not be bumped out of surgery in the morning. I think in his mind he will be more relaxed once that has been done. Please just keep praying. 12:44 PM
PS I think the kids added a picture of the motorcycle after the accident to the first blog entry. I didn't want it to be on there more than that. Thanks for all your prayers!!!
