Day Six Part Four

4:55 PM WOW!! What an afternoon! The xrays showed that Don's stomach was absolutely full and that the pain meds had stopped is bowels from working. The Finigrin (sp?) caused such a reaction that Don was disoriented, hallucinating, argumentative and combative. That lasted until 3:30 with trying to get xrays and a stomach tube up his nose and down his throat. One and a half hours later the finally got the tube in and at this point have relieved almost 3 liters from Don's stomach. They have removed the PCA pump with the delaudid and hope that the bowels will start working again - soon. They will do xrays again tonight to see if there is truly a blockage or if it was the medicine. He has been taken off the oxygen mask and 10 liters of oxygen and back to the nasal tubes and 6 liters of oxygen. (They just came into do xrays I am out of the room again.) Don will be unable to eat until the stomach tube comes out or surgery which ever comes first. We have consented to all three surgeries just in case they are able to do more than one. I know I say keep praying but that's the only thing I know to do at this point. I know we are very blessed but we still have a long way to go and need all the pray we can get. Thanks to everyone that is leaving comments on the blog. We know that there is a lot of people praying. But it is nice to see it in writing too!

Our children are praying everyday for Ms. Kristi and her Daddy. Don is also on our prayer list at First Baptist Church. We will all pray daily for his comfort and recovery. Please let me know if we can help you in any way. Doreen Melton
